I’ve seen firsthand what residents and our volunteers need to stay ready, safe, and supported. I’m running because I care deeply about this community and believe leadership should be transparent, practical, and resident-first.

What a Fire Commissioner Does
A Fire Commissioner helps run the business side of Fire District 1 so our firefighters have what they need—safely, on time, and within budget. The Board is responsible for planning and approving the district budget, managing district-owned property and equipment, and making sure taxpayer dollars are spent responsibly and transparently.
Fire Commissioners also hold public meetings, set policies and long-term plans (like equipment replacement and station needs), and ensure the district stays prepared without waste or surprises. Each year, district voters help decide the amount to be raised for the next year at the annual fire district election.
